As a nonprofit organization, Trout Unlimited is a group organized for purposes other than generating profit and in which no part of the organization’s income is distributed to its members, directors, or officers. The collected income supports projects that conserve, protect, and restore Northern America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds, rather than pay dividends to investors. TU is registered as a nonprofit and therefore is eligible for certain programs including grants, government surplus and tax exemptions. This section provides organizational information as well as documentation that governs the operation and activities of TU.
