THERE’S STILL TIME TO HELP LOCAL TU PROJECTS WIN A SHARE OF $25,000 FROM ORVIS

The Embrace A Stream Challenge is in full swing and our local chapters have already raised more than $50,000 for 17 important local restoration projects. But they need your help to improve rivers across the country and unlock $25,000 in cash prizes to support their work!

A fun, week-long online competition encouraging all of us to “give where you fish” and support local projects led by local TU members and volunteers like you, The premise is simple, TU and Orvis have put up $25,000 and invited our local volunteer-led chapters with great projects to compete for those dollars.

From now through midnight on Nov. 14, you can help TU projects unlock $25,000 in prizes from Orvis to care for and recover their local rivers.

But they need your help to win.

From now through midnight on Nov. 14, you can help chapters that you support – working to protect and restore rivers you love to fish – by going to www.embraceastream.org and making a donation of $10 or more. Every dollar donated goes directly to that chapter project, and your gift can help the chapter unlock additional cash prizes of $50 to $1,000 for their work.

For example, Orvis is matching your donation dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 for each of these great projects. Other prizes include awards for the most donations received, the most funds raised – and every day nine random donations will be selected to unlock prizes ranging from $50 to $250.

All chapters competing in the Embrace A Stream Challenge were awarded grants in this year’s Embrace A Stream grant program and were vetted by a volunteer committee of TU members and leaders. This year, we were able to provide more than $85,000 in grants to 17 incredible local TU chapter projects – and the Embrace A Stream Challenge promises to help bring even more critical funding to these great projects!

Since 1975, the Embrace A Stream program and donors like you have helped us award more than $4.95 million in grants to over 1,125 local chapter projects that bring TU’s mission to the local level.
