Driftwater – a boutique accommodation and fly fishing lodge.

Nestled in the Meander Valley at the gateway to the World Heritage listed Tasmanian Wilderness, Driftwater is perfectly positioned as a base for accessing the Tasmanian fishery. With its extensive and diverse waterways, pristine rivers and streams, clear mountain lakes, wild brown trout and rainbows and a plentiful and diverse insect life – Driftwater is the perfect venue for your next fly fishing journey.

What we do

Fishing packages tailored to suit your requirements – from one to seven days. Incorporate one day of fishing as you explore our island state of Tasmania or immerse yourself in five days of fly fishing in a different destination each day. Catering for all levels of experience and offering tuition in all facets of fly fishing if required.

Driftwater offers contemporary accommodation in a stylishly renovated century old homestead, enhanced by its rural setting and surrounded by extensive gardens.
As a base for exploring nearby attractions like Cradle Mountain or other wilderness walks, wineries, Cradle Coast Food trail or the arts and crafts of nearby Deloraine. Borrow our mountain or road bikes to explore the Meander Valley.

Guests are invited to join their hosts Karen & Peter and fellow guests for shared table dining where tales from the day can be exchanged.
Exceptional food with an emphasis on locally sourced and produce from the kitchen garden, complimented by Tasmanian wines makes for a perfect dining experience

We will design a fly fishing journey to suit your requirements and experience. Whether wading the lowland rivers, polaroiding the highland lakes, targeting mayfly feeders or early morning tailing trout or drifting in our handcrafted wooden driftboats, your journey will be a unique and unforgettable one
