About Us
Iron Fish Distillery is Michigan’s first distillery on an operating farm since prohibition. Founded in 2016, the name Iron Fish is inspired by the migratory rainbow trout, or steelhead, that reside in the nearby Betsie River. Iron Fish Distillery features a full line distillery with five rickhouses aging spirits in over 3,000 barrels. We create both clear spirits and aged bourbon, rye, and finish-sourced whiskies in barrels from around the world.
What we do
We offer guests distillery tours and have a full-service family-friendly restaurant and craft cocktail bar on property with live music and ample indoor and outdoor seating. Our Bin store provides guests the opportunity to purchase a variety of our flagship and special release spirits, from grain-to-glass vodkas and gin to maple-finished bourbon and our Mad Angler series of estate-grown whiskies. Our distillery gets over 125,000 visitors per year.
Where we do it
Iron Fish Distillery is located on a 120 farm in northern Michigan on the Betsie River watershed. The distillery lies near the border of Manistee and Benzie counties about 40 miles south of Traverse City and three miles away from Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf resort.
