Now that the Pebble mine comment period has closed, we have time up here in Alaska to turn our attention to something way more fun: fishing!
We see new photos coming in from friends in Bristol Bay with monster-sized king salmon, and trophy rainbow trout almost daily. For most of us, a trip out there is only a dream — even for many Alaskans.
However, today we have good news: there’s currently an opportunity to make the dream a reality.
Trout Unlimited has teamed up with Omaze, a company that organizes giveaways that give back, to offer one lucky winner and a friend a getaway fly-fishing adventure in Bristol Bay. TU Business Member, Alaska Sportsman’s Lodge, will be the host of a four-night stay next summer, with flights, meals, fly-outs, guided fishing all included.
How it works:
- You enter to win through Omaze’s easy-to-use web portal
- The more you donate, the more entries you get to win. All donations benefit Trout Unlimited’s ‘Save Bristol Bay’ program,
- A lucky winner is picked and will jet off to Bristol Bay with a friend next summer!
About the trip:
Tucked away in the Alaskan wilderness on the crystal clear Kvichak River, Alaska Sportsman’s Lodge is the perfect combination of rugged beauty and world-class amenities.
Their friendly and dedicated staff will set you up with everything you need to enjoy some of the best salmon and trout fishing in the world—including all your gear and license requirements, an expert guide and the chance to fly out to remote rivers that give “peace and quiet” a whole new meaning.
When you’re not fishing, relax in your deluxe cabin or the elegant main lodge, where the drinks flow as freely as the river and the food rivals any 5-star restaurant. Flights, gourmet meals and transportation included!
How does this help Bristol Bay?
A portion of donations that are generated through this contest goes to Trout Unlimited’s work in Alaska to rally sportsmen and women around protecting Bristol Bay from the proposed Pebble mine. By engaging lodge owners, guides, pilots, and others who rely on the Bristol Bay sport fishery, TU- Alaska ensures that the interests of the angling community are heard by decision-makers at the local, state, and national level.
So, what are you waiting for? Click here to enter to win and please help spread the word!
