Renowned fly fishing storyteller John Gierach will join TU’s Kirk Deeter on a live Zoom chat this week to talk about the author’s newest book, “Dumb Luck and the Kindness of Strangers,” which officially hits bookstores on June. 2.
Anyone can join the Zoom chat Thursday evening, May 28 at 8 p.m. ET, and listen as two of the most influential voices in fly fishing talk about the new book, fly fishing, the craft of writing, and, of course, fly fishing at home and all over the world.
Gierach has been writing about fly fishing for the better part of 50 years and has written 20 books of prose about the fly fishing craft, the endeavors anglers undertake to pursue fish, all with a slightly skewed perspective of a sport that many pursue but very few truly master.
Deeter is the editor of TROUT Magazine (Gierach is a quarterly contributor) and the author of numerous books, as well as a frequent contributor to Field & Stream and many other magazines and publications. Both live along the Front Range of Colorado, and both are well-traveled, imminently experienced and incredibly entertaining. The evening should be a treat for all who fish and for all who treasure Gierach’s unique writing.
