TU lauds proposal to bolster conservation funding in New York

Trout Unlimited is applauding an ambitious New York stream restoration initiative included in a $3 billion proposal announced by Gov. Andrew Cuomo this week.  The “Restore Mother Nature Bond Act” was highlighted in Cuomo’s 2020 State of the State address. It would fund projects that improve critical fish and wildlife habitat and reduce flood risks across New York by reconnecting streams, removing obsolete dams, retrofitting road-stream crossings, restoring wetlands and natural floodplains, conserving forests and open space, reducing stormwater runoff, and upgrading fish

NFWF grants to bolster TU’s brook trout work in Appalachia

TU continues wetland restoration in Rogue River watershed

By Jamie Vaughan Trout Unlimited and local partners recently completed construction on a wetland restoration in downtown Cedar Springs, Mich.  With help from a grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) this is the second wetland restoration that Trout Unlimited has implemented in this community, which is home to Cedar Creek, an important coldwater tributary to the Rogue River. 

SweetWater and TU partnership has another big year

Trout Unlimited and SweetWater Brewing Company teamed up again in 2019 to work toward cleaner water for people and for trout.  The Atlanta-based craft brewery invited TU to participate in their Save Our Waters campaign for the fourth consecutive year. As part of the program, SweetWater pledges a donation of up to $20,000 to match donations made to TU.  Trout
