Garrison Doctor of Rep Your Water has some great advice for anglers heading out in the winter to chase trout. It’s simple, really, and it oozes with plain, old common sense.
Be ready for anything.

Conditions in winter can vary from blue-bird skies (like the day Garrison in enjoying in the video above) to ice-in-your guides frigid, with sideways snow and horrible visibility. If you’re prepared for inclement weather, you’ll be warmer, drier and able to fish longer.
More good advice? In winter, fish during the warmest time of the day. It’ll be more fun for you, and it’s when the trout will be most active.
