Did you know TU has a podcast?

Emerging’s most recent guest, Ranga Perera.

Emerging is the official podcast of the TU Costa 5 Rivers program and has been running for four seasons.

The show began in the fall of 2020 when University of Georgia fly fishing club president, Joseph Berney, had the idea to share stories using this medium. Thanks to early support from Simms and Costa, the podcast launched, and the first guest was Trout Unlimited president, Chris Wood.

Simms supports TU 5 Rivers programs across the country

As a podcast, Emerging seeks to be a resource to the college students that make up the 5 Rivers program. We aim to discuss topics relevant to the anglers and conservationists that make 5 Rivers such a great program. But that doesn’t mean it’s just for college students. Any listener is bound to learn more about TU, its partners, its work and much more.

Now, Emerging is in its fourth season with Colorado State University fly fishing club president, Joe Tardif, behind the mic. This season, Joe hopes to bring value to Emerging by hosting a diverse group of guests who all have unique goals and visions for the future of fly fishing.

Costa is a great supporter of Emerging

Throughout season four, Joe will be discussing much more than just “cool fishing stories.” Emerging’s most recent guest was Ranga Perera, a chef and avid angler. Ranga and Joe had a great discussion about the intersection of fly fishing and cooking.

Be sure to check out episodes from the previous seasons as well as you’re sure to enjoy them and learn something while you’re at it.
