Oh brother… the Snake River has apparently R-U-N-N-O-F-F.
Well, most of us won’t complain if we have to play the waiting game one way or another. Guess the date that the river clears enough to fish with a dry fly, and you win… a cutthroat trout!
Some folks are saying Aug. 1 is the reasonable timeframe to expect the waters to subside in many places throughout the West. Of course, there are always alternatives… tailwaters… flat water… golf… rafting… or, of course, “Head East, young man.” I know of more Colorado friends that are making a trip to the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa now than I can ever remember before. Makes perfect sense.
I also learned long ago that you might trade a sloppy June for a stellar October, and I’ll take that any day.
So when do you think your runoff will end, or are you already in the clear where you are?
