For years, the Latin American paradise of Colombia has been a political mess, ripe with danger originating from government rebels, toxic drug cartels and general corruption. But things might be changing in this wondrous jungle nation.
Oh, and the fishing is pretty good, too.
As you can see from the video above, a group of anglers is seeking funding to create “Path of the Jaguar,” a fly-fishing film featuring Colombia’s remote rain-forest rivers and the toothy critters that chase flies in dark, tea-stained waters. They need money, however, and the effort to earn that funding is under way. If you’re interested in learning more about the jungle fly fishing in a country that’s becoming more and more stable, consider a donation to help make it happen. As of this writing, the group is about $12,000 short of it goal with only five days left.
