The Hooke film series focusing on the people who fish is pretty darned cool. Not only do these short films feature some wonderful scenery from Scandanavia and other destinations, but they focus on the people who fish and find ways to incorporate fishing into their lives.
Lars Munk is no exception. A Dane now living, fishing and guiding for Atlantic salmon in Sweden, Munk has embraced the outdoor lifestyle, and eventually ran a camp for visiting anglers with a conservation bent.
We should all be so lucky, right? But, as you’ll see from the video above, it didn’t come without sacrifice. Sometimes, fishing can take over your life, and Lars realized that he didn’t want to be that guy.
“Salmon fishing is a drug,” he says. “There’s no doubt about it.”
His camp is for sale now. Interested?
