TU to Showcase Restoration Work on Gila National Forest
Major New Project Will Restore Forest Watersheds and Improve Fish Habitat
SILVER CITY Trout Unlimited is hosting two open houses to kick off a major new restoration project on the Gila National Forest.
The project will restore habitat and improve fish passage. It also will include fuel reduction activities to reduce fire risk and protect local communities.
The open houses will take place:
Tuesday, November 14th, at 7:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the Student Memorial Building at WNMU in Silver City; and
Wednesday, November 15th, at 7:30 p.m., at the Glenwood Community Center in Glenwood.
The open houses will be attended by key officials from the U.S. Forest Service, as well as local community organizations, conservation groups and citizens.
